Choose Happiness...Birds Do!

Hello + Hello!
How are you all doing today?
I hope very well!
Can you tell it's been starting to slowly change around your neck of the woods?
It seems that Summer is waning and Fall is fast approaching here.
Before I know it, school will be in full swing and the leaves will be hitting the ground.
SO....
I'm trying to embrace the time between the two seasons with
lush rich late summer color.
I recently produced a few more colors of my
"Today I'm going to be happier than a bird with a French fry"
prints.
Don't you love these bold colors?
I do.
Each of these prints can be found in my Etsy shop
&

I even brought some into my brick and mortar shop
I hope you are enjoying this last bit of Summer
wherever you are....
&
that you can find invigorating charm in the stunning colors of
late Summer.
I also hope you can be as happy as a bird with a french fry...
Everyday!
Cheers!

Ice Cream Social & Book Signing With A Cherry On Top

 Hello + Hello!
How's everyone doing?
I'm floating on a cloud of whipped cream dreams.....
ha ha ha!!!
Seriously....
this past week has been a whirlwind of fun partying galore for my family!
I very much enjoyed all of it...but must admit I'm a little bit exhausted from it today.
All the prep work and excitement of getting things ready for the lovely
was ABSOLUTELY worth it!
Koralee was kind enough to pop into our shop
to sign her new book
Everything Goes With Ice Cream!

You may already know I was blessed enough to be asked by
Koralee to be a contributor to her book along with many other wonderful folks.
It was "pure joy" to have Koralee in the shop with us the night of our
Mother's Day Sale & Ice Cream Social.
Many sweet folks stopped in and had her sign a copy of her book for them.
 Of course,
in true Grandiflora fashion,
we dressed up like old fashioned
Soda Jerks
to serve up the
goodness that only Grandiflora can offer!
We had a ton of fun together, and I'm so thankful for all our amazing employees
who are always so willing to go along with my hair brained ideas
for costumes to fit our functions!!!
( I love you girls!!!)
>>>>>--------------->
It was such a wonderful surprise to meet a new friend of
Koralee's named Carol.
(She also has a feature in the book: Ice Cream Snow Balls)
Carol is obviously very talented and has a very generous spirit just like
Koralee....no wonder they are partners in
the sweet pursuit of ice cream crime!

Did I mention we had a contest for our customers as well?
Oh yes we did!
All you had to do was come dressed as your favorite flavor of ice cream
(strawberry = pink, bubblegum = blue, etc...)
BUT....
we were also giving away gift certificates to the most
creative costumes;
...wouldn't you agree these girls won?
Ha ha ha!!!
LOVE IT!
There were goodies galore & great buys to be had by everyone!
My sister and partner at Grandiflora (La Von)
deserves all the thanks...
If it weren't for her,
I'd never have wondered over to Koralee's blog
and fallen head over heels for her
sweet style.
>>>>>--------------->
Want to know what the
Cherry On Top Was?
Being able to chat with Koralee all night long!
.........
"I'm so glad we met my friend;
here's to your continued success at
Where Women Cook
& with your lovely sweet book
Everything Goes With Ice Cream!"

**All images are credited to my talented niece Emily Visser. Thanks so much for taking photos, so I could have the night off from playing photographer and enjoy my company!**

The 14 Things That Made Me Smile This Week

 Hello + Hello!
Dropping by again to share a few things that made me smile this past week...
14 things to be exact.
Personally, I enjoyed a bunch of junking this past week.
Treasures were everywhere!
I was able to find an antique shell encrusted box for my bathroom cabinet;
it was labelled 1930, Paris. Pretty amazing huh?
It has old mirrors that are losing their silvering on the sides,
& it's in perfect shape....for only $3.00!
Whoo+hoo!
I found a vintage granny square afghan in disrepair, so I decided to disect it...
now I'm waiting on the inspiration I need to decide what to do with the pieces!?
I found hoards of good vintage fabrics & items for my Etsy shops too!
Now that I've washed them all, I need to figure out which ones are staying and which ones are going to need to find a new home.
I treated myself to a few cheap thrills too!
I bought a new necklace with colorful beads from my own shop
&
some sweet little primroses for my window sill.
($2.00 well spent!)
Other than that,
we've been trying to keep up with our chickens & their
egg production!
Whew!
>>>>>--------------->
While I was at work this past week....
I took a few snaps of the new items that keep pouring in from our
January buying trip to Atlanta.
New jewelry, scarves & purses showed up;
as well as new votive cups, flower pots & candles too!
I love to do the displays when I get the chance to.
Taking the photos for the shop is also pretty fun.
But,
going to market & buying all this product has to top the list.
could never be accused of being a boring place to
own, or work at!
We have LOTS of fun there together as a family,
 and with
our employees who are basically our friends too!

>>>>>--------------->

Hope your week was just as fun as mine,
&
I wish you a wonderful weekend filled with joy!!!
Cheers,
T.

A Weekend Making Jewelry with Instagram

 Hello + Hello!
Wow this past week was SUPER busy for me...
I feel terrible that I haven't been here more lately.
Summer is just that way though isn't it?
At least it is here in the Pacific Northwest...
...when the sun finally decides to shine???....
...you are out in it as much as you can be!
However we've had some grey days too.
So,
when I wasn't working at
I was at home working on lots of different things,
like this fun jewelry I'm about to show you!
Above you'll see some cute little retro 60's glitter buttons
I've turned them into the cutest sets of earrings.

Here is a set of earrings and a sweet seed bead bracelet in gold and mint.
These colors are SO HOT right now don't you think???
I see it everywhere on the web, but have yet to see any of my local peeps snatching it up.
( At least not any of them over the age of 25)
We'll see how these do at the store?
Yep, did I mention that I sell my jewelry at
our shop
I used to sell jewelry like this online with Etsy...
...but now the market there is saturated with jewelry,
so...
I pulled it and went strictly local with it.
What do you think?

Some of the younger minded folks shopping at Grandiflora would more than likely go for these sweeties with the mint or hot pink and geometric silver beads...
As always, I try my own jewelry on to make sure it will fit.
I have a very large frame with a big bone structure....so if it's too small it will fit most normal people and if it fits me.....well it will surely fit anyone who's either super tall like me...
or needs to shed a few pounds
(which could also be construed as being like me! lol!)
Personally I thought the peachy pinks and minty greens were a perfect match for my
freckles!
Sometimes a little less color and a bit more shimmer are in order.
I loved the bows, the geometrics and especially the
natural pyrite raw stones here.
These are just a few of the earrings and bracelets I made.
I think I made over 40 pairs of earrings & 18 bracelets?!?!?!
It was a busy weekend!
I got a little wild and crazy with wire wrapping random beads this time.
So I decided to go ahead and whip them up into bracelets.
And as always, Instagram never let me down for a minute!
Normally this is the sort of stuff that you'd never see me photograph with my regular big camera.
It seems so labor intensive to take the photos with the big camera and then edit them to upload to blogger.
With instagram it's so simple!
Granted the photos aren't as crystal clear or as colorful....
but like I said before,
if I didn't have my Droid Razr to take these lovely little shots to upload them to
Instagram....
you wouldn't be seeing them at all because I wouldn't have bothered.
Don't worry there will be days where I  still use the big camera
because nothing can compare!!!
Anyone else have a passion for Instagram?
Or for jewelry?
Maybe it's just me....
....anyway,
stay tuned for more to come.
I've been instagramming a ton of stuff lately and will have to continue to update you on
all the happenings!
Remember you can always view what I'm up to over on
if you don't have a smart phone yet.
Or,
if you are on Instagram you can find me as
TrishaBrink
Hope to see you over there!
