It's Time To BLOOM!

Hello + Hello!

It's time isn't it?

It's time to

BLOOM!

I don't know about where you're living....

but around here the pussy willows are about to come out in full force,

the daffodils are sprouting-soon to bloom

&

all the grocery stores are displaying early Spring flowers

like primroses.

This makes me want to wear bright colors and go without a coat....

....until I step outside and realize it's

freaking cold!

Brrrrrr.....

so,

I've had to sacrifice by wearing bright colors

under warm scarves and coats.

However...

I know it's coming...and it will come sooner that we think.

So drink up all that hot cocoa you've been hoarding;

Spring will soon be here to stay!

Pretty Reusable Bags Are Pretty Easy To Use

Hello + Hello!

Reusable bags were meant to be used right?

Well....

I'm truly on the right track then!

I am in love with this new reusable bag which I was

blessed enough to receive at market last month.

It's a fun faux stitchery bag from

Pip Studio

(A really sweet Dutch line I'm totally in love with, and contemplating bringing into the shop)

So far I've used it to purchase a few

lovely inexpensive tops

from

Old Navy

&

even a fun bedspread from a local thrift store.

I'm quite frankly smitten with using reusable bags

as long as they can all be this pretty... and this high of quality.

How about you?

How do you feel about plastic bag bans & reusable bags?

Our local shopping mecca (Bellingham, Wa USA) has a bag ban.

I can see good in it and bad too...but I'm adapting.

Can I Get Another One for my Pal Scarfy Here?

Am I the only one who loves a good scarf?

This is one of my all time favorites!

I've had it for years now, and always look forward to pulling it out of my ever growing enormous bin of scarves come fall.

I have a sort of a bad habit of purchasing a number of scarves every new season....

What I love about a good scarf is the fact that you can take a simple

"boring"

outfit and turn it into something pretty wonderful!

So,

in all reality....I'm actually saving money by not purchasing more clothes....right?

RIGHT????

My favorite scarf wearing moment is in the movie Penelope, when Reese Witherspoon's character says:

"Hey bartender, can I get another one for my pal scarfy here?!"

Although I don't need to wear a scarf for cosmetic reasons....well...ok...that's debatable....but honestly, I do like to wear a scarf to keep the chill at bay when it gets a little nippy out!

My sister La Von and I are scarf addicts...so we are always on the lookout for the prettiest and most unique ones we can find!

I know I am not alone here ladies...what is your favorite accessory for fall?

I have to admit, that hats are also a fetish of mine...but that is a whole other post!

Until then, I'll be having fun on this dreary day digging through my closet bins searching for the perfect scarves for the chilly weather to come!

Rainy Day Dreaming

Rain, rain, go away...come again another day.

Yep, it's a rainin'....hard.

Well, when that happens, I cocoon.

I curl up into a ball and dream of lovely things (like the roses from my summer garden)...which inevitably  inspires me to create.

And, when inspiration to create hits...but I don't have any idea in my head WHAT to create, I head to a number of different inspirational spots.

4. Garden (not an option in today's downpour!)

I have a little treasure of a scrapbook that I found thrifting one day. I have filled it with lots of lovely inspirational ideas from home decor, to clothes and accessories.

I also love to peruse my vintage book collection! Aren't these pen and ink owl drawings divine?!

Once Upon A Time...There Were Some Shoes.

Have you ever found the perfect shoes? Did you buy them in all 5 colors? Well, I have...found them that is.

I LOVE Converse!!! I only wish I could've bought them in all the colors I wanted.

Sadly I was limited to only two :( Sniff...sniff.

Seriously. Don't you just love a good pair of shoes?!

When you find the perfect pair that is not only comfy...but cute as well??

Hair Ties Galore!

Hello all! Since the weather and the allergies have been kinda cruel to me lately (see previous post) I have decided to take a few shots of some of the things I've been working on lately.

This is a collection of really fun vintage fabric covered buttons that I've made into hair ties. Didn't they turn out really cute???

I've been making these for quite awhile now...but I really like the funky combinations of colors on these. I can even wear these as a necklace when combined....but I like them best as a bracelet!

Cheers all! How are you today? I hope you are well. I went shopping awhile back and found some lovely inexpensive shoes to cheer up my wardrobe for summer. I've been wearing the two pairs of sneakers for awhile now and everywhere I go women exclaim "I LOVE YOUR SHOES!!!! WHERE DID YOU GET THEM???"  So I thought, well.....why not capture them with the camera. As you know it's always fun for me to challenge myself creatively...so....voila!! Here we go! I love the way the photo turned out...as if when wearing these shoes...I'll be walking on sunshine.  I hope you too will be able to find something inexpensive and lovely to brighten your wardrobe this season. Want a big tip? Target baby, Target.
