Spoils to the Winner; A GIVEAWAY!!!

Sorry, this contest is now CLOSED. Please stay tuned for more giveaways from Trisha Brink Design.
Did you remember that I won a copy of Selina Lake's Romantic Style Book??
Yep! I'm the lucky girl who got the signed copy for winning a photography contest on her Flickr Page.
Whoo Hoo!
Ironically, I already had the book (as I'm obsessed with Selina's Style!)
SO,
I'm being a good girl and "Paying it Forward" by doing a giveaway of MY COPY!!!!

Look at how pretty the wrapping was!!!!
I can't wait to decide what to do with this beautiful fabric?!?!

Ooooo..... I even got some lovely art cards in the deal....I'll have to pen some lovely letters soon.

I was truly inspired to style a few photos myself! :)

The contents are a really lovely clue as to what lies ahead in this beautiful book....

....there are pretty bedrooms...

....with adorable detail photos (this happens to be my absolute favorite picture in the book!).

Dreamy photography abounds throughout the book thanks to Debi Treloar.

There are so many types of Romantic Style and Selina shows them all. Sara is the master at descriptive writing....telling us how to achieve the looks we are seeing in the photos.

I am having so much fun paging through all the inspirational ideas with COLOR!

Oh how I love all the white with the pops of color in this photo!!!
Again; this is one of my faves!

I'm always looking for kitchen inspiration....and this photo is most assuredly inspiring!

So many special photos of beautifully detailed stylized vignettes.
How Dreamy....

There are even unbelievable shots of the gardens that belong to these unbelievable homes!
Don't you just want to lounge here with Romantic Style Book???
Well, in a moment....I'll tell you how you can....well sorta anyway....not here maybe....but lounging with the book for sure!
:o)

Because Selina Lake was so nice to send me a book....I'm going to give my book away to one lucky winner too!
Not only that, but I'm going to give that same lucky winner a copy of my winning photo as well!
Yippee!!!
All you need to do is:
1. Leave a comment here on my blog telling me how you've "romantically styled " a space in your home or garden (or at least how you would like to if you haven't already).
2. Make sure you tell all your blogger friends about the giveaway...we don't want anyone missing out!
3. I will RANDOMLY select a winner once the contest closes on Sunday night April 3 at midnight Pacific Standard Time.
4. Make sure you tune in on Monday to see if you've won!!!

This book is absolutely a total dream, if you win you will adore just sitting with a cup of tea and your dreams as you drift off into a romantic world.
One thing I must add here, thank-you SO MUCH Selina for the winning book; I appreciate it more than you could ever know.  I have been following your lovely work for some time now through all the magazine work you've done and your book Bazaar Style. I am so pleased that you finally nailed down the fact that Romantic Style doesn't have to be "SAPPY" rather that it can be edgy and even modern.
Praise the Lord that I can finally admit that I'm a Romantic....and not feel like a prissy pink frou frou freak!
For in my mind....romanticism can even be rustic, modern, and bright.....you have simply pulled them all together for us to enjoy.
Thanks Oodles and Lots!
Cheers
Everyone!!!!
:o)

  1. Oh dear... I'm the first... does random selector ever pick number one?

Hope so, as I'd really like to have a copy of this book :)
How would I style a room romantically? Flowers, I have a thing with yellow roses and more recently red carnations. Style books on a hand painted white table, flowers next to them, cup of chamomile tea on a white metal coaster, chaise long with handmade quilt in red and white (a to do project for ages now), pictures of the sea and big windows letting all the sunshine in...

  2. I've been wanting this book. The images and her style are right up my alley. That dining room! I love that modern pink chair included. I bet you do something fabulous with that fabric. You know I decorate romantically.

  5. Ooooh, I'm ashamed to admit that I was enticed here from your comment left over on Decor8. But I'm so glad I found you. What a beautiful blog you have. I love your photography. No wonder you won. And as far as this book goes, I think I'm going to have to buy it now, if I don't win!

Ok, my romantic dining room is fitted with 2 white shabby chic sideboards - one formal & one rustic. Followed by a to-die-for upside-down tiered chandelier, round pedestal table and a patchwork tablecloth in soft, pastel shades of pink and sea glass green. I also have tall silver candlestick lamps on a sideboard, a butler's ball and a reclaimed window frame fitted with mirrors. I love this room. :)

  6. I would love to win this book! I have romantically styled my living room as much as I can by combining some antiques, old windows with pictures of flowers in them. I have lots of beautiful tea cups, dishes ... in my antique china cabinet. I'm also working on some shabby chic quilts to drape over my floral sofa...

  9. Trisha, that's such a sweet give away! This book is on my wish list, so if I don't win it, I will definitely buy it :-) I added a link to your give away in my side bar

One of the thinks I like most of Romantic Style is the combination of pastels with brighter or darker colors (fuchsia pink!!) I really feel this ads depth and personality to a room, so that doesn't become bland or boring. As for my own house... my husband thinks this is just too girly and 'threatens' me with his Star Wars posters if I try to follow this style too much :-) So I add details little by little, like cherry red velvet curtains, lots of flowers, soft pink furniture for my daughter, a roll-top bath, vintage china ….

  10. This book is right up my alley! I'm slowly working on adding romantic elements to my home. It's takes a bit to get my husband warmed up to them. Our downstairs master suite is in progress and so close to being finished. It's one big soft, fluffy, ruffly, beach cottage theme. Oh my. I just can't wait for that to be my serene getaway!

  11. I have to say that my home is modern romantic - I mix modern, clean lines with vintage plates, photo frames, post cards, quilts. Our current home is a relocation move so it's been quite a challenge for me to make a home in unfamiliar surroundings. (We moved from my hometown of San Diego to The South). I would love this book as a guide to help me put the finishes touches on this house....that I want to love, but, sadly, I just "like" for now.

  14. Oh yes please, count me in. I inherited some vintage crochet table coverings. I adore how they look on my bedroom side tables with antique framed pictures and vases of roses.

  15. This book is definitely on the top of my wish list. My studio is currently the only room in my home that would probably be considered romantic and shabby. It's girly and elegant and a little bit whimsy. It's still a work in progress and this book would certainly help reach my goal.

Thanks for the chance. Now I'm off to check out the rest of your blog:)

I plan on painting all of the floorboards white (all the carpets were taken up when we moved in) with white or very pale grey walls all through. I already have white tables and cupboards and plan on painting my gold mirror white and I have touches of pink throughout like pale pink curtains in my bedroom. would love this books to help me on my way! I am putting your giveaway on my sidebar :)

  20. Oooheeee! I just came across your blog from the link on Selina's blog. I love it! Romantic style is something I don't get much of a chance to wallow in sadly, living with two boys. Since our ten-month old appeared on the scene I mostly wallow in mess! However, in my little period home I like to have a romantic moment whenever I can. Behind the guitars, CDs and books is some lovely french gray paint, with white linen blinds and an old second hand mirror above the fireplace, fresh white lillies on the table. Soon i'll strip the horrible black gloss mirror frame and reveal the antique gold underneath! The only romantic style really in the house is in the bedroom- our white bedstead has been romanced up with some Cath Kidston bedding, and my crochet. However, my dresser is the only truly romantic place! No boys allowed here. I have my vintage cream radio, a white lamp I've had for years, vintage champgane coupes filled with pearls and a 1940s mirror I bought for £10 strewn with gold costume jewellery. In fact, you've inspired me to create my very own romanstic style blog post! Now if I only I had that book to help me...

  24. Oh what a beautiful book! I am in the middle of a bathroom reno that is taking forever and the mess is driving me crazy. It will be great and romantic when it is done but this book would be a VACATION from the mess!

I usually love pinks, whites, and other such pastels but my bathroom will be in the tones of your background here...new and creative colors to stimulate Romantic spirit.

    Thanks for the inspiration! Karen
