Can you say that?
"It is well....with my soul."
As I sit typing in the very chair you see before you in the photo....I am wondering,
have you ever read the story of
I truly....truly.....encourage you to go to the Wikipedia link I've provided you here and read his story.
I've always been inspired by this man and his wife and their story together.
Please,
once you've gone over and visited the Wikipedia page and read the first paragraph, you can see the words to the famous hymn on the right of the page which he wrote after experiencing some of life's worst tradgedies.
Here is my inspiration for today as Easter is upon us:
***
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
Refrain:It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
There is no mistake about how I feel about this song.
I have many favorites....but for some reason...this one still rings quite true for me.
Even in the midst of all the trials and tribulations I've been through....am going through....and WILL go through....I can honestly say:
because:
...and that is what I hope and pray for you this
blessed Easter.
Hugs my friends...and many rich Blessings for your life in
Him.
:)

P.S.
A little gift for you.....
I love that song. Are those letters up on your wall? So clever. Happy Resurrection Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite hymns..we sing it at school all the time! I have not listened to the YOUTube version yet...off to do so right now. Thank you my friend...this looks like it may be a great topic for our Tuesday morning devotions at school! oxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHope your Easter was blessed in many many ways.
Hi Sheila, Yes....the letters are on my wall! I found an old sign makers kit and each letter has little tacks built into the back. I just tacked them to my wall (you can do that kind of stuff when you live in a decrepit old house made with wooden walls!) :) Thanks for visiting and commenting....hoping your Sunday was joyful & filled with laughter!

I didn't know about the story behind this beautiful hymn! Thank you! What better assurance can there be? It is well with my soul. I love the way you have used those words to bless your home. So happy I found you today!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteDo you know the name of the typography?
ReplyDeleteI actually don't have the font name. It is from a vintage set of lettering I found at a thrift store. The letters were used to put on bulletin boards long ago and changed out daily. Wish I could help you!
