Found these little beauties and bundles more, at a junk store recently. I love to capture fun little things like this on film and upload them to Flickr. It's great fun to add them to groups of like minded folks' photos and compare thoughts. There is a group for everything on Flickr; windmills, polka dots, roses, and yes even emphemera like this! I enjoy commenting on people's photos and encouraging them to stretch themselves telling them I can't wait to see what they're up to next! I think we all need a little encouragement and feedback once in awhile to help us grow. Especially us creative types who need to blossom and thrive..
I realize that to some of you taking photos of cancelled vintage postage stamps might seem like a waste of time, but to me it's better than watching T.V. or reading a book. I live to create, and this is an instant way to be creative on a daily basis.
O.K. it's time for the announcement...all that Flickring has gotten me into some pretty serious stuff! Believe it or not, my photos have been featured on some pretty hot blogs lately:
Decor8
Table Tonic
Apartment Therapy
and many, many others....I am totally flabberghasted! My photos are being featured on blogs around the world in countries I can't even remember the names of! It is all a bit surreal to this small town girl!
The best part? The photos of my home are about to be shown to the Indie Craft world on Etsy's blog this coming Sunday!!!! I was blown away to be asked to do such a thing! I am having a blast doing all of this stuff, but there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to do it all! Well, life is pretty good right now, and I am so thankful to my Jesus who loves me and is using me to spread a little light even into the Decosphere. To Him be all the glory!
I will fill you in more a bit later, but for now use the link to my Flickr page on my blog homepage and you too can preview it before the rest of the world will...I hope you like it!
Cheers,
Trish :o)
