Hi!
(long time no speak....sorry about that)
Frankly January is always MY craziest month.
I wish I could have a slow peaceful month like most folks who actually complain
about being bored in January.
But, alas no. I be hoppin' busy!!
I've been off to market for a week in
Atlanta....then came home to be stuck in bed for a week with the flu.
Icky!
Next it's taxes, inventory & the one good thing...magazine/blog feature deadlines.
Eeeeep!
But, all in all it's truly necessary and ultimately..... good stuff in the end.
>>>>>---------------->
Well,
anyway....until I can have a bit of time to myself to formulate a
well written creative blog post for your enjoyment....
today I'm going to share a surprise blog post which was featured
by a sweet old friend

parts of home décor and crafting.
If you've never taken the time to slip over to her blog....
well....
you are in for a big treat!!
I love all that she features,
and find myself pinning and re-pinning from
her Pinterest feed & her blog
on a regular basis to my own
I urge you to take a moment & refresh yourself
at Claire's
I know I did...
I bet you won't be sorry you did!

Ice Cream Social & Book Signing With A Cherry On Top

 Hello + Hello!
How's everyone doing?
I'm floating on a cloud of whipped cream dreams.....
ha ha ha!!!
Seriously....
this past week has been a whirlwind of fun partying galore for my family!
I very much enjoyed all of it...but must admit I'm a little bit exhausted from it today.
All the prep work and excitement of getting things ready for the lovely
was ABSOLUTELY worth it!
Koralee was kind enough to pop into our shop
to sign her new book
Everything Goes With Ice Cream!

You may already know I was blessed enough to be asked by
Koralee to be a contributor to her book along with many other wonderful folks.
It was "pure joy" to have Koralee in the shop with us the night of our
Mother's Day Sale & Ice Cream Social.
Many sweet folks stopped in and had her sign a copy of her book for them.
 Of course,
in true Grandiflora fashion,
we dressed up like old fashioned
Soda Jerks
to serve up the
goodness that only Grandiflora can offer!
We had a ton of fun together, and I'm so thankful for all our amazing employees
who are always so willing to go along with my hair brained ideas
for costumes to fit our functions!!!
( I love you girls!!!)
>>>>>--------------->
It was such a wonderful surprise to meet a new friend of
Koralee's named Carol.
(She also has a feature in the book: Ice Cream Snow Balls)
Carol is obviously very talented and has a very generous spirit just like
Koralee....no wonder they are partners in
the sweet pursuit of ice cream crime!

Did I mention we had a contest for our customers as well?
Oh yes we did!
All you had to do was come dressed as your favorite flavor of ice cream
(strawberry = pink, bubblegum = blue, etc...)
BUT....
we were also giving away gift certificates to the most
creative costumes;
...wouldn't you agree these girls won?
Ha ha ha!!!
LOVE IT!
There were goodies galore & great buys to be had by everyone!
My sister and partner at Grandiflora (La Von)
deserves all the thanks...
If it weren't for her,
I'd never have wondered over to Koralee's blog
and fallen head over heels for her
sweet style.
>>>>>--------------->
Want to know what the
Cherry On Top Was?
Being able to chat with Koralee all night long!
.........
"I'm so glad we met my friend;
here's to your continued success at
Where Women Cook
& with your lovely sweet book
Everything Goes With Ice Cream!"

**All images are credited to my talented niece Emily Visser. Thanks so much for taking photos, so I could have the night off from playing photographer and enjoy my company!**

Everything Goes With Ice Cream, Even Me! My New Book Feature Reveal

 Hello + Hello!
Eeeeek!
I'm so happy to stop in here today to share a little....
no.....ALOT of excitement and joy!

I'm happy to annouce that I'm:

Have you heard about it yet?
I am truly in love with this adorable book put out by one of the most
genuine bloggers I happen to know,
The book is filled to the gills with
cute crafts, ice cream recipes, quotes & of course....
Happiness!
Because frankly....who isn't happy with loads of ice cream?!
There are seasonal ice cream recipes for
Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter.
Chocolate, Caramel, Hot Fudge & Sea Salt
rival with
Lemon, Strawberry, Watermelon & Coconut.
There are cookies, sandwiches, pink cinnamon rolls & fudge!
Learn to make pom+pom bunting
&
handkie aprons.
Or maybe you'd like to find some new home made gift ideas for the
Holidays?
GAH!!!!!
There's simply too much to list!
(Trust me when I say, I'm not even scratching the surface here.)
With 111 recipes & 176 full color pages filled with
amazing photography,
you can rest assured this book is worth every penny.

Koralee and I have gotten to know eachother via the internet for the past few years.
My sister La Von was the one who got me hooked on Koralee's blog.
(Thanks La Von!)
She said to me one day:
"I can't believe you don't follow Koralee's blog! She is SO YOU!"
Well,
I immediately went home and googled
&
somehow Koralee & I connected and hit it off almost immediately.
Divided by a border
(she lives in Canada & I live in the States)
we have still yet to meet in person!
(Trust us....we know! Pretty sad huh?)
Koralee has been a shopper at our store
and even though we both cross the 49th Parallel fairly often...
our busy lives have yet to collide.
HOWEVER,
we have enjoyed countless chit chats via
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & Blogging.
So...
even though we can't seem to get it together physically....
we are enjoying eachother's company virtually.
Someday we'll get it together right Koralee?
LOL!!
>>>>>--------------->
What I'm so excited about is:

There are so many other new friends to find in this book.
If you like to visit wonderful blogs...then you should
get this book and start visiting all of
Koralee's friends.
Each friend is featured just like me with a recipe & a fun crafty idea.
I can't wait to start making the blog rounds with these
very talented ladies;
some of whom you may already know!
>>>>>-------------->
So, yeah....
I'm floating on a cloud right about now as this is my first real book feature.
Thanks oodles and oodles Koralee for the chance to share
in the joy of your sweet book.
You are a true friend & I appreciate all you do.
If you don't know
then you should take my word for it
&
head straight over there
right after you get her
delightful book;
From
Jo Packham
of
 &

Thanks for sharing in my joy everyone!
You are all so kind to follow along as I find my place in this world
of blogging, print & design.
Cheers my friends,
Trish

Everything Goes With Ice Cream....RIGHT?

Hello + Hello!
I am SUPER DUPER excited to announce
yet another great book slated to come out soon!
The talented
Koralee Teichrob
of
has more than out done herself!
is an adorable book about well...
ice cream.
BUT
that's not all my friends!
There are also many...many...many
more things than that!
Of course there's crafty party ideas, gifty goodies & even seasonal
ways to make ice cream a priority in your life everyday.
(Hey, who doesn't want that???)
SO...
make sure you head directly over
(Where Women Create Press Shoppe)
to see an extended preview
of this
sweet book.
I also highly encourage you to make sure you
visit
Koralee's
for a daily slice of
encouragement
&
joy!
>>>>>--------------->
Post Script
Koralee is a valued friend of mine...and will soon become one of yours too.
She has a lovely soul, and you simply cannot resist
her genuine thoughtfulness.
One huge, and I mean HUGE indicator that Koralee is such a wonderful person is this:
When I met Jo Packham of Where Women Create/Cook
at market a few weeks ago,
(top left photo)
I mentioned Koralee's name and her face lit up like a
firework!
"OH! Koralee's got a great new book coming out in early Spring, did you know?!?!?!"
is what I got from her
"I'm SO excited!!"
she said.
What does this mean?
I take it to mean this:
If there is one recommendation that you'll take from Jo (and of course me :)
it's this:
&
the first minute you can....
'nuff said.

A Top Hat Celebration for my New Blog Design!

My Son Tristan was in "Top Hat" form this morning for Spirit Week's "Best Dressed Day"
How fitting for the unveiling of my new blog design!
It's official!
The blog is now finished....well mostly...I've got to add a few more buttons etc... but I am excited to announce the unveil of my new blog design. I have been toying around with it for a few days now, and am happy with how it's turned out.

My last blog "look" was jumbled together from various tidbits of this and that. I was just getting bored with it frankly...and wanted a change. (Have I mentioned that I get bored easily???)

Proud as a peacock in a top hat and tie....

I'm pretty pleased with myself for getting the style of blog I wanted
( ie: fresh and clean)
with my own two hands!
Oh I'm sure it would look ten thousand times better if a professional did it...but there was something in the learning and the doing that I garnered so much from.
It is a joy to learn new things about something you love right?!

...oh....and by the way....Tristan had a fabulous day too; he was the ONLY boy with a Top Hat!

And so it goes....
We'll see how long I can live with this blog layout....
I would love to hear your comments....do you like simple blogs like this style of layout?
-OR-
Do you enjoy a blog with lots of little details?
I tend to like the simpler ones if photography is the primary content....
-But-
I like them a bit busier if it's mostly text & only a few photos.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Cheers my dears,
T.
xx

Designing My Own Blog...Hmmmmm......

Hello + Hello
Just wanted to let you know I'll be messing around with the blog for the next little while....
I was tiring of the old layout...wanting to hire a professional...but being too stubborn to.
Thinking it might be fun to try and figure it out for myself???
Fun???
Hmmmm......
We'll see about that.
Until I have it all figured out and lookin' just the way I want it....
.....hang in there ok?
Cheers my friends,
T.
xx
P. S.
Feedback (constructive) is always appreciated!

Joyriding to Spokane for Farm Chicks!!

OK...
....let's get just one thing straight.
I
 HEART

If you've been reading my blog at all....you would know this is an annual event of pure girly fun.
My mom, sisters, and friends all gather up together and drive 7 or 8 hours to go to
Spokane County Washington Fairgrounds to attend this 2 day event.
Truly....
it is our favorite find!
What a fun joyride it is too....
We have SO much fun together laughing, telling good stories & generally making all kinds of trouble!
The part about the ride I like the most???
Flying down I-90 trying to pick out the rest of the Western Washingtonions who are also headed to the show.
We wave....we make handwritten signs that say:
"Honk if you love the Farm Chicks!"
&
the best part???
The group of ladies in the car/van next to us just rips into laughter and begins honking back!
:D
It's a chance to live like a little teeny-bopper again.
Giggling & Goofing off with like minded girlfriends.
We always have tall tales to tell when we talk to folks about Farm Chicks.
( My favorite is the one about the couch that ate my mother.....but that is hallowed ground....if I tell you the story I may lose my inheritance ;)
To whom do we owe this great adventure time???
Well....
of course.
She is a sweet chick with all sorts of fun to share through her great show, blog, cookbooks & contributions to Country Living Magazine.
I'm pretty excited to meet
who's a pretty inspirational chick herself!
She contributes to Country Living Magazine as well as producing her own magazine called
oh....it's so lovely!
Head on over to check it out!
So.....
to wrap this all up,
I hope you can join us at the show.
It will be great fun, and you won't want it to end....but when it does....
I hope you will have yourself some:
:)

Selina Lake's Homespun Style: I Pinky Swear It's Great!

I can honestly say that I havn't been more excited about a book release in...
....well....
....I've NEVER been this excited about a book release!
Not only do I adore the books that
puts out....this subject is near and dear to my heart as well!
I am a crafty chica who loves all things made pretty with love and elbow grease.
So,
imagine my happiness when my favorite stylist decides to put out a book about it?!
Yippie!
Not only that,
but....
is the talented photographer who captured the vignettes,
along with the easy to read
who was somehow able to put it all into words actually worth reading.
I preordered my copy
MONTHS ago when I was told it would be coming available.
You can order a signed copy of the book from
Selina's Etsy Shop, or get a copy from your favorite bookseller.
I was simply tickled pink to find my copy yesterday on the doorstep!
I've been going through it over and over admiring all the pretties.
So many of the talented homeowners are folks I admire and chat with on a regular basis over on Flickr. We all seem to share an affinity for things homespun.
I will warn you however....
if you buy this book,
you'll find yourself doing all sorts of crazy pretty things around the house!
I found myself cutting quilt squares today when I should've been doing some dishes!
This book could be hazardous for your organized life....
oh well....
nothing in my home will ever be perfect anyway....
so I might as well make what I do have pretty!
&....
OH YES,
I'm also more than a little happy to mention that Selina has been true to her
sweet disposition by mentioning some resources to find more inspiration and supplies for recreating this fun look.
I am thankful, humbled and honored to be among the named.
Although Selina (whom I've come to know as a happy new friend) lives halfway accross the globe, she has been kind enough to include not only my Blog, but my Etsy shop Ollie Bollen
& our shop
Thanks so much Selina, like I've said before...you're such a Peach!
Well,
I hope you will all head right out and get your copy, because we'll be discussing it here quite a bit if you ask me. I simply love this look myself....but even if the bright colors are not for you and you love creams, neutrals, blacks, browns, or muted tones....you can truly find inspiration in the displays and convert them to your own color scheme instead.
I challenge you to check it out sometime soon.
You won't regret it, I pinky swear!
:D
