Weekends are Made for Dreaming....

Well, here is a little sneak peek at what I'v been up to this week. As you've been reading I've been working on a "swatch wall" in my living room. After burning my fingers on the hot glue gun....I'm finally finished with "the wall"!!! I am just going to give you some little peeks since I'd like to "style" my photos and do a bigger release next week when I've got some of the larger things done in the room.
So....sit back and relax and do a little dreaming of your own this weekend. What do you have that needs a bit of freshening up around your house? What have you been doing to make your house your home? Are you working out in the yard? Did you have a healthy breakfast??? Did I?????????? Hmmmmm...
Oh, that's right....that bowl of leftover Fruit Loops was little Elliot's....not mine. I had Smart Start! :o)
We have been a bit lazy getting going in the mornings this weekend because we are all a bit tired and slightly under the weather with sniffles and coughs....so.....no Church for us today.
Our plan is to just hang out and be cozy. Watch some good movies, and I might continue to dream of all the fun things I'd like to do to finish this redecorating I'm working on in the living room and dining room. I'm loving all the colors that are popping up around here. Isn't it amazing what a little color can do for your life???

Well, have a great weekend my blog buddies...and continue to pray for my friend Janice's son in the hospital (motorcycle accident). He is in really tough shape :( But the Lord is good, and all will be made well...if you are interested you can go see her really inspiring blog in the link on my blog homepage. Stampin' with Janice. Shoot her a word of encouragement as they hover over his bedside....she could use it.  Also be thankful for what you have...and neve take your health/family's health for granted.

I love your company....and love even more to hear from you! Keep the comments coming! :)

  2. Thanks so much ladies!

Jennifer, I got the huge oval hoops (there are two...one is not shown....YET :o) from my local thrift store for $2.99 each! I have no idea as to what they were used for...maybe rug hooking???

Megan, I have to admit the layering was an afterthought. I just happened to toss these all on the floor in a pile and liked how they landed! :o) SO....a little stint with the glue gun (nasty little hottie that she is...) and voila!! LAYERS!!!

I'm so glad you girls like the look; I can't wait to feature the whole wall for you...I'm absolutely blown away with how freakin' cool it is!!! I've outdone myself this time, if I do say so myself! Tee hee hee...modesty??? NO! When you spend only about $30.00 to make a wall this sweet...you too can boast! Just joshin'....I'm just so happy to have been inspired by the Purl Bee...thanks to her....I'm loving my living room again!

I told them I collect globes too and they said you will want this lighted one then..Oh yes!!! I thought of you right then. I will be putting it on my blog in a few days. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Your pictures make me smile. I think I will use your room as inspiration! Question- How in the world do you get the slipcovers to stay on with kids? My couch needs a desperate makeover and I don't think I am really up for sewing slipcovers. Any tips?

  9. Thanks Jutta!!! You are a sweetie! Be looking on flickr for the newest uploads...and I'll be blogging about it here soon!

Felicia, Yeah...kids...well, just get rid of the kids. That's the only way to live in perfection! Tee hee hee! :o) No, really...I am constantly refluffing the slipcovers with two boys jumping all over the place. I have found that a few well concealed T-pins, a bit of slip proof shelf liner, and a good talking to seems to help. Good luck! But be prepared to fluff! :o) One good thing? It's all washable...yippee!

  10. I have been thinking about this all day. My sofa has loose cushions for the back so what I think I am going to do it make actual covers for the seat and back cushions but then do the kind of throw slip covers to cover the rest. Then the cushions will go back on and maybe keep things in place. I feel like making the cushion covers is more doable than making an entire real slipcover. We'll see :)
