Hello all!
I don't know about you....but I've been working my tail off lately. I've been working so hard both at work and at home. It doesn't feel at all like summer to me. Partly because of all the extra work...but mostly because the weather has been so sadly grey for most of the last 6 months here in the Pacific Northwest.
Sunday I sat and listened in Church to my Pastor advise me to get out and enjoy the weather & refuel myself....which I promptly went ahead and did since I was in pretty tough shape.
I took a little getaway to the beach at
The photo above is looking towards where I live in
which is located in the Nooksack River Basin just 5 miles South of the Canadian Border.
The mountain you see in the background is
which is a volcano (just like Mt. St. Helens just down the Washington corridor from us) & also of which my hubby has climbed to the summit!
Whew!!!
I felt the need to get out and about in the (finally) sunny weather we were having.
Isn't this wild thistle just gorgeous? The detail is awesome!
...anyway...
We had a lovely little picnic, and the boys played in the water while I read a book.
This is NOT normal for me....I have a problem tearing myself away from my work & my home.
I must admit...this was an awesome evening....so we capped it off with a:
mind blowing sunset too.
Happy new week to you, & may you find the time to enjoy the little getaways in your life soon too!
:)
Cheers!
Trish

ReplyDeleteThanks so much ladies...it was truly refreshing. I recommend everyone get out for a bit of a day. It doesn't take much time or money to have a little getaway, & the payback is really HUGE!!!
