We're doing it, The Spring Craft and Antique Show.

Here's some news you might be interested in: Grandiflora Home and Garden (shop I own with my sis, and mom) is going to be at the Craft and Antique show again this year! We haven't done the show for years now....so we decided to give it a whirl again. We will have a booth when you walk in the door, filled to the gills with vintage and crafts. We have been busy working on all the details, but the basic jist will be fun pops of color for Spring. I think we have a pretty good handle on the look we are going to pull off....but it's a secret, so I can't divulge at this time. The show is always at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds right here in Lynden. The dates are March 18th-20th.  I will give you more details closer to the show.

Here is a lovely piece that I've made recently. Not sure if I'll be putting it in the show, or at Grandiflora. I am on a rampage to come up with some great new crafts, and also stock up on the crafts I normally sell at Grandiflora. Our goal is always to bring the newest, most cutting edge looks to the people of our area. That being said, the looks must fit within the criteria of what local folks want. It sounds SO SIMPLE, and yet it's the hardest thing as a buyer to do. It takes lots of trial and error. The photo you are looking at above is a beauty shot I put on Flickr (see link on blog homepage). I took a bunch of photos to show you this fun medallion that I'm working on for Spring. This is just the sort of thing that I can see hanging up for a Spring or Easter Party.
The basic idea here is folded antique music pages, new cardstock, a 3 dimensional folded flower (took a bit of figuring!!!) and a really pretty vintage cabochon center. I think it turned out quite well. It was more difficult to make than I thought it would be, but now that I've got it figured out....it will be easier to make more.

I think you could have alot of fun doing a party with these. This color way is very Vintage/Shabby Chic, but I think it would be super fun to do it in bright colors for a Summer Garden Party, or in Christmas colors for the holidays. What about orange and brown for Thanksgiving? Well, you get the picture.

Well, I'm off to work on more of the many projects that should keep me sleepless for the next two weeks or so. My brain is always bursting with the many things that need doing for all of these creative endeavors. I love it all, just wish there was more time in the day to make it happen. Hoping you can have a little creative fun yourself this week, I think you should schedule it into your life! I am the complete opposite of most folks (shocker I know! Janice, I can't wait for your response on this one!!! ;o) But I usually spend my whole day doing creative things and need to schedule basics in like cleaning, paying bills, making food for my family, and spending time getting ready. My dream vacation would be to stay at home with no one here, and do nothing more than craft, create, and decorate my home. I would of course have my home cleaned for me, a caterer bring in all my favorite foods, and an acountant to make sure I could afford to do all the crazy stuff I'd have planned! Well, I can dream can't I??? I do however need to remember, the Lord has given me so many wonderful people to enjoy in my life...hubby, kids, family, & friends....and if I keep my nose to the grindstone too much, I may miss something wonderful. Oh what a balancing act I do!

Hope you'll have a great day filled with creativity AND productivity! But most of all; LOVE.
